The streetscape of Cork has changed more over the last fifteen years than it did over the previous seventy. New bridges have been built, old buildings knocked down or renovated, and new apartment complexes, hotels, and offices have sprung up during the era of the 'Celtic Tiger'. Walk through the Huguenot Quarter around French Church Street and Paul Street today and you will see fashionable restaurants, bars, and clothes shops thronged with people. Compare the modern scene with the photograph of the Huguenot Church on French Church Street in the Cork Camera Club collection and the transformation is obvious. The photos in this section record what old Cork looked like and they draw attention to some of the most important buildings in the city.
